Who We Are

Helping Hands TLC is a social emotional learning practice grounded in connection, reflection, and whole-person capacity building. The work supports individuals, teams, and organizations in strengthening how people learn, lead, and relate to one another across a variety of settings.

Rather than offering one-size-fits-all programming, Helping Hands TLC focuses on thoughtful, context-aware approaches that honor the complexity of people and systems. Social emotional learning is understood not as a curriculum to “deliver,” but as a way of supporting awareness, relationships, and sustainable growth over time.

Who Guides the Work

Helping Hands TLC is led by Lynnette Knight, founder and lead facilitator.

Lynnette brings experience across education, community-based work, and systems-level support, with a professional background rooted in social emotional learning, behavioral health, and youth and family services. Her work centers on creating spaces where people feel supported, understood, and equipped to navigate emotional demands with intention and care.

She approaches social emotional learning through a whole-person lens, recognizing the interplay between thoughts, emotions, relationships, identity, and environment. Rather than focusing on quick fixes, Lynnette emphasizes capacity building, supporting people and systems in developing skills that can be carried forward into real-world practice.

Our Philosophy

At Helping Hands TLC, social emotional learning is viewed as relevant wherever people are learning, working, leading, or caring for others.

The work emphasizes:

  • Simplify content creation and ensure design Awareness and reflectionconsistency
  • Relationship-centered practices
  • Context and culture
  • Practical application without rigidity

This approach allows social emotional learning to support not only individuals, but also teams and organizations navigating growth, transition, or increased emotional demands.

Why Social Emotional Learning Is for Everyone

Lynnette Avatar

Social Emotional Learning is often associated with schools and youth programs, but its relevance extends far beyond those spaces. At its core, Social Emotional Learning is about how people understand themselves, navigate relationships, and respond to the world around them.

We see Social Emotional Learning show up in leadership conversations, family dynamics, community spaces, and moments of transition. It influences how people communicate under pressure, manage uncertainty, and build trust within teams and systems.

At Helping Hands TLC, we approach Social Emotional Learning through a whole-person lens. This means recognizing that learning and growth are shaped by emotions, experiences, relationships, and context. Rather than focusing on quick strategies or surface-level fixes, we support the development of awareness, connection, and capacity that can be applied across real-life situations.

Social Emotional Learning is not a one-size-fits-all framework. It looks different depending on the people involved and the environments they are navigating. Our work is grounded in meeting individuals and systems where they are, while supporting growth that feels sustainable and meaningful over time.

As this space continues to grow, we will share reflections, insights, and practical thinking that support Social Emotional Learning across schools, organizations, families, and communities. This work belongs everywhere people are learning, leading, and living.
